The Packing List
Imagine my dismay when everybody and their mother tells me that I can't bring half of the things I want to bring on my trip to Austria this fall. I am worried, but fear not, I also like to think that I near-mastered the art of layering on our Ireland trip earlier this summer. We will see about that.
I'm really excited to share a few of the things that I have deemed "essentials" for my trip - world travelers, please chime in below!
disclaimer: take the word "essentials" with a grain of salt.
The List
- Neutral colored long sleeve Piko tops and dresses - I'm bringing dresses in wine and charcoal, tops in taupe (styled on The PDX Belle here!) and light grey.
- Army green jacket from Zara (mine's sold out) - similar here
- Black suede wedge booties for going out
- Nike Air Max sneakers for walking (and everything else ever)
- Long North Face down jacket for snowy Salzburg days, if those are more than just a fairytale
- Sam Edelman Felicia flats in nude and leopard - they're so light and compact, I figured I could throw in an extra pair!
- The world's cutest passport cover (I know this isn't an essential, but come on...)
- UrbanEars Plattan headphones
in pink of course, because I just couldn't resist
Fantastic list! I'm also a chronic overpacker, and only made it worse by upgrading to a bigger suitcase lol. I love the items you chose, I don't even use my passport enough to warrant it - but I want to buy that cover! Definitely a great essentials list! :)
ReplyDeleteI am going on a trip this week and definitely need to remember some of these!

So exciting that you're packing to go abroad!! It was funny for me to read this because it wasn't until just before leaving to go back to college that I finally unpacked from my travels abroad this summer. Can't wait to hear all about your semester!

I am totally like that too with unpacking - college is hard because it feels like we are constantly living out of suitcases!
DeleteExcited to hear about your travels abroad!
ReplyDeleteI've never been abroad but that sounds like a pretty concise and necessary list.
Have so much fun!

I don't know how ANYONE packs for a semester abroad. I pack way too much as well and I think it's because I love having tons of options no matter what the occasion is. I can't wait to see pictures and follow along with your trip to Austria! One of my good friends just came back from a trip there and she absolutely loved it! She is a huge fan of The Sound of Music, haha.

I'm the same way! It'll be a true test of my layering skills, haha. I'm so glad to hear your friend had a blast! I'm a sound of music freak, too :)
DeleteGreat list! My boyfriend always teases me when we go away to the mountains for a weekend because I have one bag for clothes and one for shoes...but who knows what's going to happen?! You always have to be prepared! As I look more into studying and traveling abroad, I know I'm going to have to pack light, so thank you so much for this list!

Hopefully it helped! Shoes have been the toughest thing to narrow down for this trip. My bf gives me a hard time about packing too much as well :)
DeleteExcellent list! I've been known to over pack, as I always have to be prepared for ANYTHING that may happen. Thankfully, I've been working on downsizing my suitcase for a much lighter load. ;)
ReplyDeleteSwooning over that passport cover! Headed to buy pronto!
ReplyDeleteSo fun! I love your picks. I'm terrible about over-packing as well, I try to make a list and stick to it! I can't wait to hear about your travels.

That passport cover is too cute! So jealous that you were able to spend time in Ireland! I have friends working abroad in Scotland and they travel to Ireland all the time, it's beautiful!

ReplyDeleteAll the more reason to travel when you can!
DeleteHow exciting! I hope you have a blast, and don't worry, you have so much fun exploring that you will fall in love with your surroundings more than anything else, but I am sure that you know this...

I promise you from experience, those Sam Edelman flats are PERFECT for exploring the cities of Europe! Great list there girl! I had the leopard ones and LOVED them! My advice, collect the different countries that are represented on the back of the coins. They're so unique.
